Solar Engineer

Overview:

Madison Energy Investments (“MEI”) believes in the power of clean energy infrastructure and has quickly emerged as a preeminent developer, investor, asset owner, and operator of distributed generation. This role represents a critical next step in MEI’s evolution toward offering direct, end-to-end services to Fortune 500 corporates, public entities, nonprofits, and other private customers alike.

The position will play a critical role with managing the development, design, installation, and maintenance of solar power systems. This position is best filled by a multi-disciplined, self-starter with excellent leadership skills.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Developing structural and electrical conceptual design, system optimization, technology selection, layouts and drawings, electrical and roof interface for solar electrical systems and other energy systems that meet all national, local and stakeholder requirements for submission of proposals.

Coordinating the development of a bill of material for each project based on the final approved design.

Providing technical support and deliverables for utility specific interconnection applications and approvals, rebate applications, performance validation models or any other technical support for commercial operation.

Performing energy yield analysis for potential projects.

Managing and tracking the submission of drawings to appropriate agencies and ensuring all requirements are met to obtain construction permits.

Working with internal Business Development team and performing site surveys as needed to evaluate feasibility of pipeline projects.

What We Are Looking For:

2-5 years’ experience serving in a similar capacity and demonstration of performing design and development with multiple types of energy projects.

Effective in customer presentations, strong written and oral communication skills required.

Proficient in AutoCad, PVsyst, PVcase, Helios 3D, Microsoft Office.

Desire to learn, work hard and grow with a renewable energy developer and operator.

Multi-tasker with a strong work ethic, exceptional values and principals.

Superior interpersonal skills and a team-first mentality.

Working Conditions:

Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.

Work environment involves some exposure to construction-related hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.

Light physical effort. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds and some standing or walking.  

Work may require out-of-town travel to job sites and customer locations.

Location: Tysons Corner, VA

Compensation Range: $95,000 – $130,000
