Overview:

Madison Energy Investments (“MEI”) believes in the power of clean energy infrastructure and has quickly emerged as a preeminent developer, investor, asset owner, and operator of distributed generation. This role represents a critical next step in MEI’s evolution toward offering direct, end-to-end services to Fortune 500 corporates, public entities, nonprofits, and other private customers alike.

The position will play a critical role with preparing estimates of probable costs of materials, labor, and equipment and subcontracts for projects based on contract bids, quotations, schematic drawings, and specifications of solar power systems. This position is best filled by a multi-disciplined, self-starter with excellent leadership skills.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Analyzing technical documents, blueprints, and project plans to gain a thorough understanding of the project and maintain project data for future comparison.

Estimating costs for civil engineering, agricultural, structural, electrical, and mechanical scopes of work.

Determining what factors of production will influence the cost of a service for the project.

Collecting, maintaining, and analyzing data by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and other related documents.

Communicating with architects, engineers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors efficiently

Preparing economic feasibility studies for changes and adjustments to cost estimates.

Participating in project meetings, reviewing schedules, and preparing reports.

Exploring documents to gain a deep understanding of project requirements.

Building and maintaining healthy and long-term relationships with vendors, clients, and other project managers.

Participating in due diligence for potential project acquisitions.

Coordinate with internal teams to support business development, based on database of cost for various pipeline projects.

Work with vendor partners to resolve technical matters during proposals, negotiation, and contract execution.

What We Are Looking For:

2-5 years’ experience serving in a similar capacity with various energy projects.

Proficiency in mathematics, statistics, and data analysis.

Report writing and strategic planning skills.

Ability to read and interpret technical documents.

Effective in customer presentations, strong written and oral communication skills required.

Meticulous attention to detail.

Exceptional time management skills.

Multi-tasker with a strong work ethic.

Superior interpersonal skills and a team-first mentality.

Working Conditions:

Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.

Work environment involves some exposure to construction-related hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.

Light physical effort. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 25 pounds and some standing or walking.  

Work may require out-of-town travel on occasion to job sites and customer locations.

Location: Tysons Corner, VA

Compensation Range: $110,000 – $160,000
