MEI Welcomes Katherine Hamilton as First Independent Board Member
New York, NY January 31, 2022
Madison Energy Investments (“MEI”) today announced the appointment of Katherine Hamilton to its Board of Directors. She is the first independent member of the Board since the founding of MEI in early 2019. Hamilton currently serves as Chair of 38 North Solutions, a leading boutique consulting firm that provides business development and public policy services to innovative companies and organizations with a focus on clean energy and technology.
Outside of her role at 38 North, she is well known across the industry for her contribution as the former co-host of The Energy Gang podcast and frequent contributor to the newly launched The Carbon Copy podcast. She has led several councils of the World Economic Forum as a global policy and technology thought leader and is currently Chair of the Global Future Council on Clean Electrification. Hamilton has worked within and advised on a wide range of organizations in the energy industry including large private equity funds, energy utilities and the White House.
“We are honored to welcome Katherine to our Board of Directors at such a transformational time,” remarked Richard Walsh, Managing Partner for Madison Energy Investments. “Katherine has a range of experience in the industry and is one of the leading minds when it comes to policy and market design in the clean energy sector. This is exactly the type of experience that will prove invaluable to us as we continue growing MEI.”
“I’m thrilled to join MEI’s board at this exciting time,” remarked Hamilton. “Even in their first few years, MEI is proving themselves as a leading force and a true thought leader in clean energy solutions. I’m looking forward to working alongside the leadership team to build upon the company’s incredible momentum and help lay the foundation for many more successful years to come.” Hamilton joins MEI co-founders Steve Cunningham, Jack Hachmann and Richard Walsh on the MEI Board of Directors along with senior leadership from Stonepeak, a leading alternative investment firm specializing in infrastructure and real assets that has backed MEI since the platform’s inception.
