New York, NY [May 20, 2019] – Madison Energy Investments (“MEI”) announced that Shivapriya Balasubramanian recently joined the company as a Senior Associate focused on business development and new markets. Shivapriya brings a depth of experience in clean energy and project finance to support due diligence, valuation analysis and acquisition and development of clean energy assets. The Commercial and Industrial (“C&I”) distributed generation market requires market players to move fast and reliably fund projects in a timely manner. MEI strives to enable our local and regional partners by providing them streamlined access to institutional capital. Shivapriya will utilize her global perspective along with her financial and analytical skills to expedite due diligence and ensure projects are closed efficiently. “I am grateful to have been chosen for the Senior Associate position at MEI. Early on, I recognized the potential that MEI had, with reputed founders, an established network of local partners, and ready equity funding and the backing of Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners for fast deployment,” stated Balasubramanian. “Each of the founding partners brings unique expertise and a wealth of experience to evaluate potential assets. It has been exciting working with the team to support internal processes and efficiently scale.”“We were blown away by the quality of candidates that applied for the position and wish we could hire all of them. Having said that, hiring Shivapriya was a no-brainer. Her experience at a top-tier advisory firm coupled with business development at a global utility focused on solar made her the ideal candidate for this position” said MEI Managing Partner Richard Walsh. “She has already proven us right and has been instrumental in closing out multiple deals in her first few weeks on the job.”Shivapriya was most recently with the Norwegian utility Statkraft and helped develop its C&I solar business in India and negotiated large C&I behind-the meter and open access solar opportunities with a combined capacity of close to 200 MW. Shivapriya also worked as a Power & Utilities Analyst with Ernst & Young India for four years, where she collaborated with Indian and European partners as well as global solution teams on Energy Advisory and Assurance business development and research.About Madison Energy Investments: Madison Energy Investments is a platform that develops, owns and operates distributed generation projects within the commercial and industrial (C&I) and small utility-scale sectors. The founding partners bring a variety of expertise in business development, finance, construction, and operations. The team’s combined industry experience of over 30 years has produced best practices in project development, construction, financing and a comfort level with a variety of technologies, engineering solutions, financing structures, state markets and incentives, utility programs, tariff structures, and asset management. Most importantly, the experience has allowed the team to develop first class relationships with experienced, local partners in dozens of markets throughout the United States. www.madisonei.com###
